10 tips for working from home as a customer service agent

Working from home saves you the commute. In return, you have to build the structure yourself that the office would otherwise give you. These ten tips come from the everyday work of our agents in Kosovo and Albania.

Your workspace and your equipment

  1. A dedicated workspaceA desk you only use for work helps your mind switch into work mode. The sofa is for after work.
  2. Quiet in the backgroundCustomers hear more than you think. Close the window, talk to your family about your shift times and use the noise-cancelling headset.
  3. Reliable equipmentTest your internet and headset before every shift. If something fails, tell your team lead right away, not an hour later.
  4. Tools at handYour script, ticket system and notes are open before the first call comes in. That way you don't have to search during the conversation.

Time and focus

  1. Fixed hours, just like in the officeStart on time, even if nobody can see you. At krejton your shift plan is set two weeks ahead, so plan your day around it.
  2. Make real use of your breaksStand up, go to the window, drink some water. If you spend your break at the screen, you won't feel rested afterwards.
  3. No multitaskingPhone away, social media closed. One conversation, one customer, full attention. People can hear it on the phone.
  4. Small goalsSet yourself one goal per shift, for example closing every ticket with a clear summary. That way you can see your progress.

Team and switching off

  1. Stay in touch with the teamWrite in the team chat when a call was difficult. Your team lead is happy to listen in and give you tips. Working alone doesn't mean being alone.
  2. A clear end to the dayLog off, close the laptop, put the headset away. A small ritual at the end of your shift helps you switch off.
