Why Pristina? Customer service from Kosovo, a sober look

When companies outsource customer service, they think about cost first. Day to day, other things matter more: Is the team available when your customers call? Does it speak the language well enough? Can you easily visit? Here is what speaks for Pristina and where you should look closely.

Same time, same currency, short trip

Kosovo uses Central European Time, the same time zone as Berlin, Vienna, Zurich and Rome, including daylight saving time. When your office opens at 8 a.m., the team in Pristina picks up the phone at the same minute. Your office hours are normal working hours there, with no night or early-shift surcharge.

Kosovo has used the euro since 2002. Invoices, budgets and prices work without exchange rates. A direct flight from Pristina takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to Vienna and about 2 hours to Zurich or Frankfurt. Visiting the team is a day trip, not an expedition.

Young people and many languages

Kosovo is one of the youngest countries in Europe. According to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, the average age in the 2024 census was 34.8 years. For comparison, the UN Population Fund UNFPA puts the median age in the EU at 44.5 years. For you, this means many young people are looking for work with prospects.

Then there is the diaspora. According to an analysis by the GAP Institute (2023) based on the German microcensus, around 542,000 people with roots in Kosovo live in Germany. Many families have relatives in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Italy, and some grew up there and came back. German, English and Italian are therefore widespread, but not everyone speaks them at the same level. We test each agent's language skills in an interview and only assign projects when the level fits.

What it costs

Living costs in Kosovo are lower than in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. That makes good service affordable without paying agents poorly. Our models:

  • Dedicated team: 1 to 10 agents just for you, billed by the hour
  • Partner agents: extra people and languages under a framework agreement
  • AI voice agent: per minute or per call, no commitment

With agents you start with a 14-day trial, followed by a term of at least six months. We state prices on request.

The challenges and how we solve them

No location is perfect. Raise these three points with any provider in the region.

  1. Staff turnoverGood people with language skills are in demand, abroad as well. Changes in the team happen. That is why we keep knowledge in guidelines rather than only in people's heads, onboard new agents in a structured way and make sure there is a stand-in who knows your project.
  2. Quality assuranceFrom a distance, you cannot see how a conversation goes. That is why team leads listen in regularly and give feedback, and you get a weekly report with the metrics you defined.
  3. Data protectionUnder the GDPR, Kosovo is a third country. Clarify with every provider on which contractual basis they process data and which data the agents really need to see.

The best way to check all this is not on paper but in daily work. That is what the 14-day trial with one agent is for.
